Yoga + Natural Wine Night

" Natural wine is therefore, literally, living wine from living soil."

Dear Friends, Please join us for this fun and intimate night of yoga followed by a peaceful glass of enlivened natural wine! We will be doing a yoga flow practice to get the prana moving, followed by short meditation designed to further balance the nervous system.  The class theme will center around the beneficial microbes inside us and around us, which is why if you are going to drink wine, natural wines are the way to go! We'll then say a cheers to our natural grape growers and wine makers as we gather in the front of GYST to sip your favorite style of natural wine - your choice of a white, red or rosé. 

You are invited to do yoga, learn more about natural wine, and most of all, GYST BE. This is a "GYST SAY YESS" collaboration. More to come soon!

Ky is nearly certified from 200+hours of yoga teacher training through the YESS Yoga and Yoga Center of Minneapolis. Been lacto-fermenting your vegetables at home? Have you had both successes and failures? We're with you! Fermentation is simple but there is a bit of a learning curve. If you know the basics and are ready for new fermented vegetable project ideas, as well as ideas to troubleshoot if issues arise, this workshop is for you! We'll quickly re-visit the basics of vegetable fermentation, and dive into both dry brine and wet brine methods, packing techniques and discuss common problems. Please bring all of your questions, as well as your creativity to this workshop! 
Participants will design their own ferment choosing from an array of vegetables, herbs and spices done in the wet brine method. (Vegetables, herbs and spices will be from any of our partner farms, given what is available to us.)
Workshop fee includes class materials, as well as a drink of your choosing (wine, beer, kombucha) and a GYST board (think adult lunchable - cheese, fermented veggies and chocolate).

Lacto-fermented Dill Pickles!

You love 'em, we love 'em! Please join us for this special fermentation workshop focusing on the lacto-fermented DILL PICKLE! This workshop will give an overview of both the dry brine and wet brine fermentation methods. We'll then dive into a few different fermentation projects - we'll make lacto-fermented dill pickles, dill kohlrabi and dill daikon radishes! Workshop fee includes a beverage - your choice of wine, beer, kombucha and workshop materials. Participants will take their jars to ferment at home. There's no better way to start the day than grounding yourself through a simple but fun yoga class! Please join us as we round through a series of sun salutations, and move through asanas and breathwork to ground and cultivate a sense of well-being. The theme for this class centers around ideas of a "healthy gut; a healthy brain."  Class is followed by a gathering over kombucha or coffee.  Featuring Kopplins Coffee and GYST kombucha. Join us for an intimate evening to discuss all things fermented with none other than the fermentation revivalist himself, Sandor Ellix Katz. A self-taught experimentalist who lives in rural Tennessee, the New York Times calls him “one of the unlikely rock stars of the American food scene.” His books Wild Fermentation (2003, 2016) and the Art of Fermentation (2012), along with the hundreds of fermentation workshops he has taught around the world, have helped to catalyze a broad revival of the fermentation arts. Sandor is the recipient of a James Beard award and many other honors.
