Book Talk + Networking Event 'Work Wife: The Power of Female Friendship to Drive Successful Businesses'

As women and sisters in business we could not be more excited to host an intimate evening of conversation featuring co-authors, Claire Mazur and Eric Cerulo of the new book called Work Wife: The Power of Female Friendship to Drive Successful Businesses. This newly released book focuses on the interplay of female friendship and business and is rooted in their story of founding Of a Kind, an online site that features limited-edition products and stories from emerging fashion designers that was founded in 2010.

We will get to hear about their story as well as share our story as sisters and entrepreneurs of GYST. It's a night for us to gather, connect and celebrate our strong community of amazing women and the friendships we have cultivated.

Tickets to the event are $40, which includes a signed copy of the book, a beverage and refreshments.

About the Authors: Erica Cerulo and Claire Mazur met as undergrads at the University of Chicago in 2002 and founded Of a Kind in 2010. They have developed a reputation as influential curators at the forefront of the maker movement, with a knack for identifying “the next big thing” when it’s still a small thing. In addition to unearthing America’s most talented up-and-coming designers for feature on their website, Cerulo and Mazur have also become known for their popular 10 Things newsletter and its podcast companion A Few Things, where they expand their enthusiasm for new discoveries across product and lifestyle categories. Accolades for Cerulo and Mazur have included being named to Forbes’s“30 Under 30,” InStyle’s “Best of the Web,” and Fashionista’s “Most Influential People in New York Fashion Right Now.” This is their first book.

Cheese: The Wonderful World of Rinds

To eat or not to eat the rind? That is the question.

The world of cheese is often mysterious! Even more perplexing are the different rinds - the flavors and textures they give to the paste of the cheese, as well as the yeasts and bacterias used to create them. What are they? How do they form? How do cheesemakers decide which to use? Most importantly... Can I eat them?

Please join us for a night of cheese tasting (so come cheese hungry!) as we explore a myriad of rinds including mold-ripened, washed, natural, and dry rinds. We'll discuss cheese in general and then get down to the nitty-gritty rind world.

This class will enable you to wow your friends and family with your cheese knowledge! We'll also discuss how to make the perfect party cheese board. Fee includes a fermented beverage of your choice (wine, beer, or kombucha). Come ready to explore the wonderful world of cheese and the rinds that be.
